This episode discusses my knee injury and the route I took from diagnosis all the way to remedial treatment. Talk about some anti-inflammatory foods that can help the recovery process and general gym chat and a brief touch on my blog this week.
First full audio recording. Subjects on this episode are a little bit about me and what I want to do with my company in the fitness industry. Also the topic I cover is about starting points on a fitness plan. The importance of diaries and why and how to analyse the data.
One to One Training: The session is tailored to you in its entirety, I base my exercise prescription upon assessments and diaries completed initially. I describe my approach and methods as “training not exercise”, everything has a meaning that is part of an end purpose.
Online Training: Online training if done correctly, can produce great results. I try to be as personable as possible when advising online clients, I start by collecting large amounts of data and relying upon honest client feedback before I prescribe training and provide nutritional guidance. I offer a 24/7 email service alongside a once a week chat via an online platform or telephone and also video tutorials for technical guidance.
Assessments and Testing
Assessments, Diaries & Testing: If you’re not assessing, your just guessing. Before any training begins, I collect data via an informal chat, provide questionnaires and request that certain diaries are completed. People are unique and should be trained as such.
Once training begins, for the monitoring of results/progress, assessments are carried out in the form of a skin fold calliper body fat test, repetition max testing, sport specific protocols or specialist tests carried out externally by one of my affiliates
Nutrition and Supplements
Nutrition and Supplements: Food will always be my primary choice, however for some it may not be the most practical option due to lifestyle considerations. Supplements if used correctly can greatly aid and help develop healthy lifestyles and through education I am able to help the client understand when they are appropriately used.
Lifestyle Management: Sometimes the simple changes make the biggest impact. Time management is a key part of maintaining a healthy lifestyle, so through the optimising of your time I aim to help you develop sustainable lifestyle habits that can fit into your current and evolving lifestyle.
Goal Setting: Every journey has to have a goal, short, medium or long term, there is something for everybody to aim for. Finishing a marathon, looking a certain way or just walking up the stairs pain free. No goal is too big or small.
